Sticky Notes is a popular Windows feature most people use to store passwords, important notes, etc. Every one facing issues with sticky notes at the time of migrating os or reinstalling os. Most people don’t know how to backup and restore sticky notes or migrate sticky notes from one PC to another PC.

Steps to Backup Sticky Notes:

1. If sticky notes are in an open state close it

2. Open Windows Explorer

3. Copy and paste the below file location in the address bar %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

4. You can also open the above path directly using the run command – Simple paste the above command on run and click ok. It will take to you to the above path.

5. Copy plum.sqlite files to your backup Location

Note: sticky notes data stores in plum.sqlite files

Restore or Migrate Sticky Notes

1. If sticky notes are in an open state close it

2. Open Windows Explorer.

3. Copy and paste the below file location in the address bar %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

4. Replace plum.sqlite files with your backup files.

5. That’s it.
